Rokwire

Rokwire is an open source mobile-first software platform for building the smart communities of tomorrow. It’s primarily funded by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and was initiated towards the end of 2018. The Illinois app, the official mobile app of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and the Safer Illinois app (retired), the official COVID-19 app of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, are built on the Rokwire platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical team in the design and development of the Rokwire platform from the ground up.
  • Collaborate with the project team to define the project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain a technical project plan.
  • Develop and maintain the initial set of technical project documentation including that of the web services API.
  • Publish the Illinois app and the Safer Illinois app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Assist with deployment of the services on the cloud infrastructure as needed.
